Almost everything you need to know!

We want to make sure your stay is as fun and memorable as possible! We are here to help so drop in and chat with us at reception if you have any questions. Please let us know if you have any problems or concerns with your room, the facilities or otherwise. 

Reception hours

Reception is open 8AM – 8.30PM 

While the reception office maybe closed staff are still available onsite afterhours.

Monday to Thursday 8.30PM – 2AM

Friday to Sunday 8.30PM – 4PM 

extend your stay

Once you have checked in all booking extensions must be made at reception.

You can NOT extend via a online booking.

If you are thinking of staying a while please let us know at reception so we can try ensure you dont have to change rooms.

Check-Out

Check out is 10AM. Late check out fees apply.

If you have not paid, your room is not guaranteed and you must see reception. 

Dormitory guests please bring your linen to reception when you check out.

WIFI & Internet

Free wifi is available throughout the hostel.

You will find the Wifi password at reception. 

There is also a couple of computers in the lounge room for guests to access the internet. 

fire safety

Please familiarise yourself with the Evacuation Plan and Fire Saftey instructions in your room. 

Do NOT tamper with or remove Fire Equipment or Smoke Alarms. Fines apply. False alarm fees cost up to $1800.

parking

Car park spaces are paid and must be booked with reception.

Street parking is available. We are in the Brisbane Central Traffic Area, a two hour limit applies to all on-street parking spaces between 7AM-6PM, Monday to Friday, and 7AM to midday on Saturday unless signed otherwise.

You can find FREE parking by using the map available on the council website here.

Public transport

To use public transport around Brisbane and across Queensland you will need to pre purchase your ticket or have a GoCard.

The closest location to purchase a GoCard is the Newsagent at 199 Boundary Street or the Night Owl at 158 Boundary Street.

You can use the Translink wesbite to plan your route and find timetables for different services.

airport transfers

There are 3 ways to get to the Domestic or International Airport from the hostel.

Con-X-ion Airport Transfers offers pick up directly from the hostel. You can book online or by phone. The cost is approx $22 per person.

AirTrain is the public transport option to the Airport. You can get the AirTrain from the South Bank Train Station. Tickets can be purchase online for approx $20 per person. Check at reception as we sometimes have discounted tickets for sale.

Taxi, Cabs and Rideshare costs are very similar and it depends on demand. You can book on the day or in advance online or by phone. Generally the cost is between $40 – $60 for up to 4 passengers.

smoking

No smoking or vaping in any indoor areas. 

No smoking or vaping on the kithen dining room deck.

Smoke may activate internal smoke detectors, please be cautious. 

Please consider other guests and do not smoke near guest rooms or windows.

Noise

Please be respectful to our neighbours and other guests by keeping the noise down.

After 10PM no music, speakers or instruments. 

Gatherings and groups may be asked to move after 10PM.

Things around the Hostel

hostel house rules

Be considerate of others.

Follow the instructions of staff.

No illegal drugs.

No noise after 10PM.

Clean up after yourself.

No visitors between 8PM and 8AM – Guests only.

Do not tamper with fire equipment.

 

Recycling

Please help us reduce waste and recycle.

In the kitchen and dining room you will find bins for Cardboard and Recyclables. Please assist us by separating and flatening items.

There are also Container Recycle Bins around the hostel. These are specifically for Containers that are eligible for the 10c refund. We collect these containers and donate the 10c refund to a charity organisation supporting a Childern’s Orphange. 

kitchen

The kitchen is open all day and all night. 

It will be closed for cleaning for 1 hour after midnight each night.

All items in the kitchen and fridge must be labels and tagged with your name and room number. Tags are in a basket on the shelf over the sink.

We clean items out of the kitchen weekly, if your items are not tagged they will be removed.

plates & Cutlery

Plate kits are available at reception. 

You can get a plate, bowl, cup and cutlery to use during your stay. These will be provided in a handy bag. Keep these with you and store them in your room. 

Please return all items before check out.

lounge room

Here you can watch TV and use our the streaming services we have avaialble. (eg: Netflix, Disney+, Stan).

There is also a couple of computers you can use to access the internet.

We also have a PS4 for guests to use – see reception for the key.

You will also find a selection of board games, puzzles and a small book swap library.

laundry

The laundry is closed between 8AM – 3PM for hostel staff use. 

The cost is $4 for a washer or dryer cycle. You can use gold coins in the machines or Tokens. 

Tokens and laundry powder can be purchased at reception.

courtyard & bbq Area

In the courtyard on the farside of the lounge room is where we encourage guests to gather after 9pm.

This area is the site where legendary battles have been fought, where dreams have been made and where Ping Pong Champions have been crowned. 

Garden & pool area

In the garden area you will find a giant Jenga and Chess Set. There is also a grass area in the morning sun for yoga and workouts.

The pool area is open from 8AM – 9PM. 

Housekeeping

Please let us know at reception by 11AM if you would like to have your room serviced by our cleaners. 

Private rooms are serviced by request only. Dormitory rooms will be serviced daily. 

If you require clean linen please take your dirty linen to reception and exchange it for a fresh set. 

Please do not remove any linen or bedding from the hostel grounds. 

Maintenance & Repairs

Please let us know at reception if there is any problem or concerns with your room. 

If you find anything that is not working or needs repairs please notify staff at reception and we will attened to repairs as soon as possible.
