Making memories everyday and enjoying every minute, Somewhere To Stay is one of Brisbane’s first backpacker’s hostels.

Opening in the time before ‘the internet’ we took bookings by phone and fax, but most people just walked in. At the beginning, the Lonely Planet guide book was a necessity, photos were taken on real film and every good hostel had pay phones and free local maps!

Over the years we have made many friends and created families, literally! Somewhere To Stay is home away from home, making memories everyday and enjoying every minute.

If the walls could take we would all be in trouble……😊. 

The Fine Print

Terms & Conditions

:Somewhere to Stay Backpackers caters to International Travellers and International Students. As such we preference International guests and cater only to genuine travellers.

We may choose at management’s discretion to accommodate Australian residents with a strict one week only policy. We do not accept bookings from local residents within the Greater Brisbane Area. Dormitory rooms are reserved for our International Guests Only.

International guests are required to provide a valid PASSPORT as identification and credit card details at Check-In.  Australian residents are required to provide valid photo identification and credit card details at Check-in.

Somewhere To Stay Backpackers Hostel will not accept any guests under the age of 18. While management reserve the right to allow persons under the age of 18 stay they must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian.

Payment in advance is required for all reservations.

We accept payment by way of CASH (AUD), EFTPOS, VISA or MASTERCARD. Surcharge fees apply to card transactions.

If you wish to extend your stay you must notify and us before 8.30pm the night prior to your checkout day. We will do all we can to accommodate your request but no reservation is guaranteed unless fully paid. All accommodation must be pre-paid.

Group bookings (over 4 people) should be be made by contacting the team directly via phone 1800 812 398 or via email at info@somewheretostay.com.au

All rates are subject to change.

Customers shall pay all sums due upon checking-in including a $20 deposit. The Deposit will be held for the duration of stay, to cover loss/damages to the Hostel, linen and cleaning costs.

Check-in time at the Hostel is at 2:00PM.  Should you arrive prior to this, luggage storage is available.

Reception is available from 8:00AM – 2:00AM if you wish to arrive/leave outside this time please make arrangements with reception staff prior.

Check-out time at the Hostel is 10:00AM.  At this time guests are required to bring their bed linen (dorm beds only), room key and all personal belongings to reception. If no damages or further charges apply, the guest will be refunded their $20 Deposit.

Later check-out times may be possible by prior arrangement (and at the Hostel’s discretion), and additional charges will apply. Details of charges will be provided to the customer at the time of their request. In the absence of an arranged late check-out, failure to check-out by 10:00AM will result in the Customer being charged an additional accommodation fee or the Deposit being forfeited. Any Late check-out request past 12:00PM will result in a charge for a full night’s accommodation at the standard rate.

Somewhere To Stay Backpackers Hostel has ‘Hostel Rules’ posted in Reception and main common areas. Please review these rules as failure to adhere to the rules may result in eviction and loss of deposit or additional charges.

Guests will be held liable for any damages to the property caused by you the guest or any person you invite into the property. You will be charged for the damages/call out fee which could result in you being evicted from the property.

Do not tamper with Fire and Safety Equipment, false fire alarms and tampering with Fire Equipment will incur fees up to $2000.

 

Cancellation Policy

Guest cancelling more than 24 hours prior to 2:00PM on the scheduled date of arrival will be not be charged for cancellation fees.

Guests cancelling within 24 hours prior to 2:00PM on the scheduled date of arrival of will incur a cancellation fee equal to one night’s accommodation for each bed booked at the quoted rate.

Failure to arrive at the Hostel on the scheduled date or advise of a cancellation, will result in the charge of a NO SHOW fee equal to one night’s accommodation for each bed booked at the quoted rate. This will be charged to the method of payment advised at the time of booking.  The remainder of your booking will be cancelled at this time.

All cancellation and NO SHOW charges will be processed using the credit card used to make the booking.

All cancellations must be made in writing to info@somewheretostay.com.au and include the full booking details including – booking reservation number, full name, email.
