Almost everything you need to know!

We want to make sure your stay is as fun and memorable as possible! We are here to help so drop in and chat with us at reception if you have any questions. Please let us know if you have any problems or concerns with your room, the facilities or otherwise.

Reception hours

Reception is open 8AM – 8.30PM 

While the reception office maybe closed staff are still available onsite afterhours.

Afterhours 8.30PM – 4AM

Check-Out

Check out is 8AM -10AM. Late check out fees apply.

If you have not paid, your room is not guaranteed. Please see Reception.

Dormitory guests please bring your linen to reception when you check out.

Checking out before 8AM you must see Reception the day before to make arrangements and collect any refunds.

WIFI & Internet

Free wifi is available throughout the hostel.

You will find the Wifi password at reception. 

There is also a couple of computers in the lounge room for guests to access the internet.

No illegal drugs.

No noise after 10PM.

Clean up after yourself.

No visitors between 8PM and 10AM – Guests only.

Do not tamper with fire equipment.

Please familiarise yourself with the Evacuation Plan and Fire Saftey instructions in your room. 

Do NOT tamper with or remove Fire Equipment or Smoke Alarms. Fines apply. False alarm fees cost up to $1800.

Lithium‑ion (Li‑ion) batteries for e‑bikes, scooters, mobility devices or similar equipment must not be charged indoors or left charging unattended. Outdoor charging only.

 

VISITORS

For the comfort and security of all guests, visitors are allowed on the property between 10:00 AM and 8:00 PM only.

Guests may sign in a Visitor with the approval of staff on duty.

Visitors must complete a registration form and must be signed in by a registered guest, who will remain responsible for them at all times.

Please note that visitors are not permitted inside guest rooms and may only access designated common areas.

BICYCLE PARKING

Bicyle racks are available to the rear of the Reception building.

Please see staff at Reception for access to the side gate for easy access to this area. Please make sure your bicycle is secured at all times.

Car and Scooter park spaces are paid and must be booked with reception.

Street parking is available. We are in the Brisbane Central Traffic Area, a two hour limit applies to all on-street parking spaces between 7AM-6PM, Monday to Friday, and 7AM to midday on Saturday unless signed otherwise.

SECURITY

To help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all, we kindly ask guests to ensure doors are securely closed when exiting their room or the property.

Please do not allow entry to anyone you do not personally know or who is not a registered guest.

If you notice anything suspicious or concerning, we encourage you to report it to staff immediately so we can respond appropriately.

Public TRansport

Brisbane’s public transport network – including buses, trains and ferries – is simple and convenient to use. You can plan your journey, check routes, timetables and services at the Translink Website.

Ticket Options:

  • Use contactless payments
  • Grab a GoCard for flexible travel across all service
  • Pre-purchase your ticket

The closest place to purchase a GoCard is at the West End Newsagent 199 Boundary St, West End.

Currently public transport fares are a 50 cent flat rate across all Translink services.

airport transfers

There are 3 ways to get to the Domestic or International Airport from the hostel.

Con-X-ion Airport Transfers offers pick up directly from the hostel. You can book online or by phone. The cost is approx $32 per person.

AirTrain is the public transport option to the Airport. You can get the AirTrain from the South Bank Train Station. Tickets can be purchase online for approx $23 per person.

Taxi, Cabs and Rideshare offer similar pricing, with costs varying based on demand. You can book a ride online or by phone, either in advance or on the day of travel. Generally price ranges from $70 to $80, for up tp 4 passengers. Fixed-price rides are also available when booking online.

Smoking & Vaping

NO smoking or vaping in any indoor areas.

Smoking is only permitted in the designated Smoking Areas:

  • Outdoor Patio area (infront of kitchen deck)
  • Courtyard covered area (near the laundry)
  • Car Park area away from the reception entry (near street entry)

Smoke and Vape may activate internal smoke detectors, please be cautious as fines apply.

Noise

Please be respectful to our neighbours and other guests by keeping the noise down.

After 10PM no music, speakers or instruments. 

Gatherings and groups may be asked to move after 10PM.

Things around the Hostel

kitchen

The kitchen is open all day and all night. 

It will be closed for cleaning for upto 2 hours from 11PM each night.

All items in the kitchen and fridge must be labels and tagged with your name, room number and check out date.

Tags can be automatically printed in the kitchen with your room key or you can handwrite a tag from the  Red Container near the coffee station.

We clean items out of the kitchen weekly, if your items are not tagged they will be removed.

Please clean up after yourself.

Snacks & Vending Machines

A variety of snacks and drinks are available from the vending machine near the kitchen & in the lounge room.

Need cash coins for the vending machine or laundry? A coin vending machine is located in the Laundry.

Reception also offers a small selection of snacks, drinks, ice creams, and convenience items for purchase between 8AM to 830PM.

plates & Cutlery

Plate kits are available at reception. 

You can get a plate, bowl, cup and cutlery to use during your stay. These will be provided in a handy bag. Keep these with you and store them in your room.

Please return all items before check out.

Recycling

Please help us reduce waste and recycle.

In the kitchen and dining room you will find bins for Cardboard and Recyclables. Please assist us by separating and flatening items.

There are also Container Recycle Bins around the hostel. These are specifically for Containers that are eligible for the 10c refund. We collect these containers and donate the 10c refund to a charity organisation supporting a Childern’s Orphange.

lounge room

Here you can watch TV and use our the streaming services we have avaialble. (eg: Netflix, Disney+, Stan).

We have a PS4 for guests to use – see reception for the key.

There is also computers you can use to access the internet.

You will also find a selection of board games, puzzles and a small book swap library.

laundry

The laundry is open for guest use between 2PM – 12PM Midnight. 

The cost is $6 for a washer or dryer cycle. You can use gold coins in the machines or Tokens.

The COIN MACHINE in the laundry can dispense $2 coins,

Tokens and laundry powder can be purchased at reception.

There is a Iron & Ironing Board on the wall inside the laundry for guest.

courtyard & luggage storage

In the courtyard on the farside of the lounge room is where we encourage guests to gather after 9pm.

Under the stairs in the courtyard, you’ll find a short-term luggage storage area for temporarily storing your bags on check-in or check-out day.

This space is also available for larger items that are not suitable for shared rooms  – eg Surf Boards.

Any items stored for more than 12 hours must be approved at reception and labeled.

Garden & pool area

In the garden area you will find a workout space in the morning sun for yoga and workouts.

There is also a Ping Pong Table where legendary battles have been fought, where dreams have been made and where Ping Pong Champions have been crowned.

The pool area is open from 8AM – 7PM.

Housekeeping

Please let us know at reception before 11AM if you would like to have your room serviced by our cleaners. 

Private rooms are serviced by request only.

Dormitory rooms will be serviced daily. If you require clean linen please take your dirty linen to reception and exchange it for a fresh set.

Please do not remove any linen or bedding from the hostel grounds.

Maintenance & Repairs

Please let us know at reception if there is any problem or concerns with your room. 

If you find anything that is not working or needs repairs please notify staff at reception and we will attened to repairs as soon as possible.
