After months of criticism and flagging subscription figures, Brisbane City Council has at long last moved to prop up the multi-million-dollar initiative.

Lord Mayor Graham Quirk said the price of a daily subscription would be cut from $11 to $2 and an $11 weekly subscription introduced as part of a package of initiatives to improve the scheme.

The Courier-Mail flagged the changes earlier this week and Cr Quirk is also expected to announce more changes on Sunday, including how council will tackle the helmet problem, with many potential users currently turned off by a need to bring their own.
