Brisbane's best hostel by far! Somewhere To Stay feels more like a big home than a hostel. The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful and the hostel itself is a big old house with cosy communal areas such as the TV & movie room, the pool area and the outside tables and chairs. The hostel is right in the middle of the West End so you can walk to some of the best bars and restaurants in Brisbane. They also do a free shuttle bus every hour to South Bank and also pick ups/drop offs to the transit centre. The rates are very reasonable too, and you get 3 cuddly cats to play with! :)

Very familiar hostel. This was my first hostel, when i arrived in Brisbane. I like the atmosphere here. Everybody is very friendly and you get to know a lots of people. Its also a good place for longtermers. Any time you need help you get one. Join this hostel. Das ist ein wirklich familiäres Hostel. SW2S war mein erstes Hostel in Brisbane. Die Atmosphäre hier ist super freundlich und man lernt viele Leute von ueberall kennen. Wenn ihr länger hier bleiben wollt, ist es ein guter Ort, da hier viele Longtermer sind und man deshalb immer Bekannte hat. Wenn ihr Hilfe braucht findet ihr sie bei den Mitarbeitern hier immer. Also schaut mal rein.

PERFECT HOSTEL!!! very nice hostel...great staff,sometimes some gaming with the boss for free :D great view on the city...shuttle bus to libary and south bank for free...often free BBQ's...4 minutes walk to bottle shop and other shops...perfect for long term stays!cheap and good rooms! i stayed here 6months and now it's my family ;) I <3 SWTS

From New zealand to Brisbane! this place just frlt like home!from the pub's down the road to southbank that almost felt like a beach!but apart from that the staff are the coolest who help'd me when i needed it,that free bus shuttle is like heven in the summer......gotta love the aircon! But if you like easy going staff then this is the place you wana be!people there are cool and yeah ROCK A SHOW!!

Amidst other houses is this big guesthouse. With a pool, but that seems to hardly get any attention. Close to a fun street with enough bars and restaurants to last you for more than 2 weeks. Convenient shuttle service and friendly, fun and knowledgable staff. The amount of showers and toilet seems not enough but frankly, I never had to wait. Good communal kitchen. Easy place to stay longer...

Amazing staff, they were so friendly, welcoming and happy to help whenever and always seemed up for a chat. (the cats were lovely too)
Shuttle bus was good although the location is great so we walked everywhere anyway!!
Some rooms were basic and others with a few more extras but the value for money is excellent.
Kitchen was slightly cramped and could get very messy so get in early!!
Perfect for Backpackers on a budget or working holiday.
Would definatly return and reccomend!!!

I had a great time at somewhere to stay! they made me feel so welcome! It had a nice personal feel to the hostel and i loved the location in West end, which i never would have discovered if i didnt go there. The staff were really friendly and i felt the rooms were a good size. They are strict on the no noise after 10pm, which is understandable in a residency, so your encouraged to go out after then if you want to party. Ive reccomended it to people heading to brisbane and i would definately go back there if i was going to brisbane again :)

When we first arrived here we were both starting to feel homesick but as soon as we settled in this felt like home. Wix - love you mate, your music has inspired us. Simon - you have such a big heart, we will miss you in the mornings. Kelly - dont ever change, you all the nicest people we've ever met. Alyssa - stay sane! Natalie - thanks for everything - including the late checkout, we have had a wicked time here and have met the most fantastic people! We will never forget - pub crawls, the bbqs, The Coolabah (ouch!), "oh yeah" and the 42c heat! See you next year.

In terms of somewhere to stay 'Somewhere to Stay" is the place to stay There are others smack bang in the middle of the City, others in the Valley but in terms of things to do West End is the place to be, well maybe i'm biased because i stayed there but there are heaps of things you can get upto.... Have a walk down to Southbank. Beautifull down there and lots of nice places to have lunch. There is also a cinema. Go see a game - AFL,Cricket,Rugby,Football. The city holds them all. The West End - The 'kitsch' part of Brisbane. Plenty of little shops and bars for you to explore. Mount Cootha - Head up there at night for an amazing view of the City. Thanks guys for a great stay.

I Stayed here for a couple of weeks in April/May, Its a easy place to settle into, with everything you need to get by. The free bus rides are a great bonus although everything is easily walked to if you prefer. I had a single room which was clean and comfortable. The only gripe I have is "I wish I'd done it 25 years ago".Many Thanks

The very first hostel I stayed in ever and it has really set the bar, I ended up staying there over 5 months,sad case you might say but I had so much fun there on the piss with friends AND staff plus also it is the cheapest hostel in Brisbane by a mile. I recomend it to everyone I meet on my travels.

Calm down gemma i'm sleeping.

I tell you the truth. I dont want to leave because you were my first place in Australia and i think it will be difficult to find a hostel as wicked as this one.
